Job description

Key Purpose of Role:

An opportunity has arisen for the role of Cleaner in the student village at Ulster University, Jordanstown. The Cleaner will be responsible for ensuring all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards within the residential accommodation and facilities whilst ensuring an excellent customer experience at all times.

Duties:

· Cleaning of communal areas, corridors, toilets, bedrooms etc.

· Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)

· Ensure that the safety signs are used appropriately at all times.

· Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean, tidy and stocked ensuring equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times.

· Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client.

· Ensure all cleaning equipment is kept clean & maintained in safe working order.

· Working as part of a small team.

· Any other general duties as required

The Person/Skills required:

· Strong interpersonal skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Effective communication skills

Desirable Skills & Experience:

· 6 months previous cleaning or domestic experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given

· Adaptable and Flexible approach

· Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver a quality cleaning service

· Diligent approach to sanitation and adherence to safety processes
