General cleaning: Cleaners are responsible for cleaning and tidying up the premises. This includes dusting surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, and wiping down windows, furniture, and fixtures.
Disinfection: In settings like hospitals or clinics, cleaners may be required to disinfect surfaces to maintain a sterile environment. This involves using appropriate cleaning agents and following specific protocols to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens.
Waste management: Cleaners handle the disposal of waste materials, such as emptying trash cans, segregating recyclables, and ensuring proper disposal according to local regulations. They may also replenish supplies like toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
Restroom maintenance: Cleaning restrooms is often a crucial part of a cleaner's job. They clean and sanitize toilets, sinks, mirrors, and other fixtures, restock necessary supplies, and maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
Floor care: Depending on the type of flooring, cleaners may need to perform specific tasks like sweeping, mopping, buffing, or waxing floors to maintain their appearance and cleanliness.
Cleaning equipment and supplies: Cleaners are responsible for maintaining and using various cleaning equipment and tools, such as brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning solutions. They may also keep track of inventory and request supplies when needed.
Specialized cleaning: In certain settings, cleaners may need to perform specialized cleaning tasks. For example, in hotels, they may change bed linens, clean guest rooms, or handle laundry services. In industrial environments, cleaners might be required to clean machinery or equipment.

Contract length: 6 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week
Salary: £10.50-£12.00 per hour
