Role Profile

Our Building Claims team is growing and we are looking for a Building Claims Handler to join our team in Bournemouth.

You’ll be joining a team who genuinely put our people first, and deliver what matters to our customers by managing their claims with speed ease and heart, working virtually with our colleagues in Birmingham.

On the Building Claims Team we:

Manage claims where our customers have suffered damage to their property, and would like to use their own trades person to carry out the repairs

Create scopes of works using our dedicated software, review estimates and discuss details with trades people to ensure we are controlling costs and settling the appropriate amount for the repairs

Assist our customers should their property become uninhabitable and alternative accommodation is required

Manage claims for Subsidence alongside our Loss Adjusters

Work closely with our own contractor network, loss adjusters and the wider claims department to provide support and guidance

Manage any customer complaints effectively to ensure the right outcome

Identify any potential fraud or recovery opportunities

We can offer this role on a full time (35 hours) basis, with a variety of shifts options. Hours include 8-6 Monday – Friday, and 8-4 on Saturdays, with handlers working only one in five Saturdays. Just let us know what works for you in your application and if it’s right for our customers, our business and for you, then we’ll do everything we can to make it happen.

Our teams are currently making the choice to either work from home, the office or a combination of both. Our future work model will be working in the office at least 2 days per week which we will adopt no earlier than mid-2023.

About you

Previous insurance experience.

Good communication and negotiation skills and a high level of organisation.
