About the role

The intelligence team is a central function within claims, supporting both our commercial and retail investigation teams with intelligence services and agency coordination, to disrupt and prevent claims fraud.

This role develops the technical intelligence approach within the Claims Fraud Intelligence Team, guided by both the Intelligence Manager in terms of the wider strategic direction and the Intelligence Team Leader through capability and resource. Ensuring that intelligence is progressed at the earliest opportunity, across AXA and the wider market to achieve maximum impact and disruption.

What you'll be doing:

  • Share technical intelligence approach on operations to maximise our strategic impact (disruption through to prosecution), through mentoring and development
  • Identify new fraud trends and modus operandi through analysis of activity and fraud intelligence, to generate actionable intelligence and escalate and present through appropriate fraud committees
  • Perform proactive investigatory analysis using data and intelligence processes to deliver verified counter fraud referrals ready for investigation by CVT
  • Provide a coordination function on a range of fraud related tasks within AXA and across all CVT areas
  • Identify, secure and evaluate intelligence and data sources relevant to fraud investigations and contribute to the development and management of a relevant and functional central intelligence database
  • Provide a central point of contact for Law Enforcement Agencies and external stakeholders regarding organised and complex fraud, including liaison with the Insurance Fraud Bureau
  • Develop, maintain and make use of an extensive network of internal and external contacts and relationships in order to keep up to date with new and existing fraud trends
  • Respond effectively and efficiently to third party requests such as Witness Statements and attending court where required to support a CVT investigation and maintaining accurate records for evidential purposes

About you

What we’re looking for:

  • Relevant professional qualification in fraud management ACF (tech) (specialist) desired
  • Knowledge of fraud detection systems and processes, within the insurance industry and an understanding of key fraud trends and typologies
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel, and other common systems used for fraud detection (i2, or similar mapping / charting software)
  • Working knowledge of analytical systems and associated processes needed to identify and verify fraud in suspect or unusual patterns of activity
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Good knowledge of the intelligence process
  • Demonstratable experience in a claims / fraud related environment. This experience may have been gained in insurance claims or in the intelligence team of a police force or similar environment
  • Experience of collating data from multiple sources for analytical purposes & delivering analysis and reporting
