Qualifications

Holds an engineering degree in Civil Engineering.
Preferably a chartered engineer in either the United Kingdom Institution of Civil Engineers or the Institution of Structural Engineers or an equivalent recognized Institution.

Experience

Experience in Civil and Structural engineering within a Process Design Industry.
Proficiency in tasks such as foundation design (shallow and piled) for various structures, structural design of site-built steelwork, design of modular structures, and knowledge of industry software packages and international design standards.
Underground gravity drainage experience is advantageous.

Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and independently represent the Civil Department.

Proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable to working with diverse cultures.
Willingness to travel within Europe for short durations.
Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written English.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supporting the Lead Civil/Structural Engineer on the project.
Assisting in the delivery of the civil and structural scope up to the Basic Engineering phase, followed by handing over to the detail design center in India.
Undertaking work independently up to the Basic Engineering phase and reviewing the detail design by an external design company.
Assisting in developing the Scope of Work for "design and build" contracts related to plant buildings.
Providing technical support in the development of foundations and steelwork structure concepts during the proposal stage to generate the MTO (Material Take-Off) estimate.
Assisting in the development of the Functional Execution strategy.
Offering technical support to further develop proposal concepts during the Basic Engineering stage and updating the MTO.
Providing technical support during the detail design stage to review the work of others against the basic concepts.
Suggesting economical ways to design the work.
