Hours: 37 hours a week, covering hours between 07:30am and 20:00pm, with both weekday and weekend work when required

The Parking Services Business Development Team carry out a wide variety of roles; we focus on improving our customer’s journey and experience when parking in the Derby City, manage our cashless parking platform, engage with stakeholders, research and implement new technologies and introduce new ways of working to help improve the efficiencies of the Parking Services team. We also provide support to colleagues within Parking Services and our Traffic and Transportation Team, such as processing invoices and raising purchase orders.
The role will require you to have extensive Microsoft Office experience and knowledge as you will be working with various Office 365 software daily. You will also be expected to work within Council guidelines when dealing with confidential information.
The key responsibilities of the role will be to assist the Traffic and Transportation Business Development Manager with the day-to-day operation of the Parking Services Business Development team.
Some of the tasks involved will include but not be limited to:
- Being responsible for developing and training the Business Development Assistants
- Planning weekly tasks for the Business Development Assistants
- Analysing parking data and producing reports
- Investigate possible digital solutions for enhanced levels of customer service
- To complete a start to finish solution for any new digital developments
- Being responsible for the upkeep of the Parking Services website at derby.gov.uk/parking to ensure all information is relevant and up to date
- Reporting to the Traffic & Transportation Business Development Manager on a weekly basis with updates of the service
- Responsible for generating new business through engagement with businesses
- Responsible for increasing parking fee and permit income across our state
- Raising invoices
- Raising purchase orders
- Issuing Penalty Charge Notices
The ideal candidate must:
- Have GCSE English, Maths and IT at least grade C or equivalent
- Have good verbal and written communication skills
- Be organised and able to work to deadlines
- Be accurate and pays attention to detail
- Be able to work with minimum supervision and as part of a team
- Be available to work both weekdays and weekends, between 7.30am and 8.00pm
- Be able to travel around the city on foot, carrying enforcement equipment on your person
It would be desirable if:
- You hold a valid UK driving license
- Have previous experience in business development, sales or customer service
- Have knowledge of Derby and the surrounding area
