Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)
Positions in various Cities/Towns in Washington State RCAs case, deliver, and collect mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle and provide customers on the route with a variety of services.

- Part–time, non-career position, which may lead to a full time career position; however, there is no guarantee.
- Applicants must have a valid state driver’s license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger. The driving must have taken place in the U.S. or its possessions or territories or in U.S. military installations worldwide.
- Hours will vary and will include holidays and weekends; there is no guarantee of hours. Example: You may work 20 hours one week and 60 hours the following week.
- You may be required to provide a vehicle sufficient in size for delivery of mail if an employer-provided vehicle is not assigned. If required to provide your own vehicle, RCAs will receive an Equipment Maintenance Allowance.
- You will be required to have the ability to deliver from the right hand side of the vehicle, even if you must provide one.
- You will perform work indoors and outdoors in all elements of weather: rain, sleet, ice, snow, cold, and heat, and you may encounter animals and insects too.
- Your duties will be physically demanding requiring moderate to heavy lifting, carrying, prolonged standing, reaching, and walking.
- You will provide mail security at all times.
- You must follow established safe work methods and procedures.
