About the role

A new role has been created to assist Ceremony Officers at New Shire Hall, Alconbury with weekly Citizenship ceremonies. The role is primarily to set up and pack down the Red Kite Room on a weekly basis to facilitate group citizenship ceremonies, assisting with the delivery of pre-prepared refreshments to attendees and their guests after the ceremony.

The role will be working only on Mondays for approximately 6 hours each week.

This role is labour intensive and lifting will be required.

Shortlisting will take place 4th September and Interviews by Teams will be held on 7th September.

What will you be doing?
  • Set up tables and chairs, ensuring they are laid out accurately according to a set plan and in good time ready for the ceremony
  • Ensure all room dressings are in place
  • Put out temporary signage
  • Collect refreshments and set up furniture and refreshments in the lobby in line with an agreed layout. Assist with serving and pack away after the ceremony.
  • Ensure ceremony room is restored to its default layout after the ceremony including accurate furniture placement and reconnection of desks.
  • This role is labour intensive and lifting will be required
About you
  • Able to work unsupervised to an agreed standard and requirements.
  • Have an awareness of manual handling procedures.
  • Awareness of general principles of health and safety
  • Reliable and punctual with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • High level of customer service skills and able to maintain a professional manner.
