Job description

Cinematics / Capture Director wanted for this creative & marketing studio solely for the games industry. They’re the go-to provider for studios from indie to AAA because they know games inside out. They are made up of an eclectic team
of gaming experts, storytellers, engine tinkerers, designers, and problem solvers.

As Cinematics / Capture Director you are responsible for the studio's capture and cinematics product. You will lead, manage, and inspire the Capture Department to create, assemble and collaborate across specialised builds to deliver on the creative vision of each project. You will lead the team to be a one-stop shop for the capture process, developing assets from initial creative to picture lock, creating award-winning content that exceeds client and audiences’ expectations.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Lead and be responsible for the capture and cinematics output of the studio
  • Accountable for the day to day running of the Capture Department
  • Line manage and mentor all members of the Capture Department
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and Post & CGI Director across all work, clients, pitches and proposals
  • Lead and inspire the team to create high-quality capture and cinematics work that realises the vision of each project
  • Effectively manage the structure, workload and running of the Capture Department
  • Work with other departments to plan projects and deadlines
  • Educate and inspire the team to use new appropriate equipment and systems to support cinematic goals
  • Collaborate with the Engine Specialist and IT Systems Manager on game builds
  • Keep up to date with game engine systems and technology
  • Build strong and trusting relationships with clients and internal team members
  • Rally and inspire the Studio to produce the best possible game content
  • Collaborate with the Executive team to constantly improve and grow the Studio

Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years’ experience within in game engine cinematics
  • 4+ years managing a team within in game engine cinematics
  • Exceptional artistic eye for cinematics and high-quality production
  • Exceptional knowledge of cinematography, edit pipelines and workflows
  • Expert knowledge of cinematic technology and game environments
  • Awarded portfolio of produced work
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Ability to lead, build, and inspire teams
  • Exceptional creative problem-solving skills
  • Deep knowledge and interest of the games and creative industries
