The Childrens Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) or child and adolescent mental health practitioner, is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the mental health of children and young people. Sunderland Community CAMHS is a service that is leading the way in child and adolescent mental health getting help services. We deliver high quality interventions, and develop the skills and knowledge of universal child practitioners in child and adolescent mental health.
In Sunderland the post holder would be working within a multi-disciplinary team delivering interventions to children and young people with mental health difficulties at the earliest stage. The service facilitates the provision of services that promote resilience, and enable positive mental health. We aim to increase the access of CAMH interventions by offering training and supervision to universal child practitioners as well as providing effective interventions directly to children, young people and their families. The service is comprised of generic and specialist primary mental health professionals providing early intervention at a targeted level, supporting professionals from other agencies and providing the link between universal services and specialist CAMHS
