Children’s Support Worker Role
Job Purpose
For this role you will be working in the Liverpool area as a children’s support worker. You will be required to support children with a diverse range of needs, including mental health needs, autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries. As a support worker you will find yourself working in a variety of settings, including people’s own homes, in health and social care settings such as supported living services or care homes, and out in the community.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Looking after and taking care of vulnerable difficult children, with different types of mental health issues.
· Assisting with the completion of care plans, risk assessments, reviews, incident & accidents reporting.
· Providing physical and emotional support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
· Contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting learning, independence and experiences.
· Manage the wellbeing and behavior’s ensuring significant behavioural or physical occurrences are addressed and managed accordingly
· Dealing with a range of mental health issues and supporting the children to provide support + help at all times.
· Building relationships with the children and provide care + support for the Children.
· Support routines, from waking up + being in the house routine to activities outside.
· Maintain professional relationships with clients, family and external healthcare professionals and adhere to company policies and procedures
Working Hours:
- 8am-8pm
- 8pm-8am
- 8am-11pm and attached sleep in
What you require:
· Great problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
· A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
· A non-judgemental attitude regardless of a person’s needs.
· The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
· Experience of working with children in the past in a similar setting.
· The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct in the social care sector.
· Good written and verbal communication skills.
· Experience as a child support worker, working with venerable and children with a variety of mental health issues
· DBS check and all required checks as well as clean criminal record.
· Preferable to be able to drive as locations can be spread out.
· Preferable to have level 3 qualifications in relevant subject to health and social care.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Zero hours contract
Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
