As Slough Children’s Services Trust is now Slough Children First, we are launching a new Contextual Safeguarding Team within our Referral and Assessment Service to respond to the increasing number of young people who are vulnerable as a result of exploitation or are at risk of exploitation.
To help make up this team, we are looking for two social workers who have experience of working with vulnerable adolescents and possess a good understanding of the complex needs of young people, the role their families, friends and associate networks play in their lives and the risks these wider networks pose for extra familial harm. We are looking for individuals who can work as part of a wrap-around service with other partners to ensure young people are safeguarded from extra familial harm but also work to ensure family members have the skills and resilience to support the young person and wider networks receive support to manage risks too.
This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to progress their career, bring their knowledge of working with young people and develop it too.
Slough is one of the most diverse places in the country outside of London and a great place to live or work. In fact it's the best place to live or work according to a survey by Glassdoor.
Pleasant environments, above average salaries and a lower cost of living, mean an increased quality of life for employees. We're also one of the most accessible places to be, nestled on the corner of the M25, M4 and M40, and less than 20 minutes by train to Central London.
Slough Children First works within the statutory guidance, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018. Further information on how we adhere to this can be found on our website and in each candidate information pack.
