Job description
We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, enthusiastic and committed Children's Residential Support Workers to join a children's home based in Stoke-on-Trent. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) living within the home to feel safe, build on their strengths and encourage them to reach their potentials.
You will be required to support children and young people with their daily routine, including personal care, cooking, cleaning, shopping, religious and cultural beliefs, administering medication and arranging school runs, social activities and appointments as well as promoting children and young people to carry out such tasks themselves.
The ideal candidate would be expected to have the following:
- Experience of supporting children and young people with SEMH, EBD and complex behavioural difficulties.
- Experience of working in a children's residential setting.
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work shifts and sleep-in duties.
- Must be over 22 years old
Candidates must possess the following:
- Two satisfactory references, one of which must be from most recent employer.
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service.
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
