Job description

Job Title: Trainee Therapeutic Practitioner (Support Worker - Children's Residential)

Contracted Hours: Full Time

Shift pattern: Fully flexible, Core Hours 7am-10pm, weekends and overnight sleep-ins included (average of 6 sleep-ins per month and one on-call)

Salary: £28,160 or £29,160 if level 3 qualified (yearly earnings including sleep-ins and on-call)

Basic Salary: £23,000 or £24,000 (if level 3 qualified) plus, £65 per sleep-in, £40 on-calls.

Location: Nuneaton, North Warwickshire

Driving Licence: Required

Forge Care’s flagship new service, The Forge, is a brand-new, purpose designed Therapeutic Community for children, that is dedicated to facilitating recovery from early traumatic life experiences, disrupted attachment and to reducing the impact of adversity, so that children can make sense of their pasts.

We steward children’s development of trust in themselves and in others, as well as belief in and skills for their future. Our Model of Care is based on neuro developmental, trauma-resolution principles and positive attachment practices and is framed by the Sanctuary Model®.

Within community living we practice boundaries not barriers. Everybody within the community has a role supporting children and stewarding towards holistic wellbeing of all its members.

Role information

To support children with early life trauma in a residential care setting

To supervise and support children in accordance with their care plans and the policies of Forge Care

Other duties also include - domestic duties, accompanying children to school, activities, appointments and supporting children during the day as part of the team including night time sleeping-in duties

Promoting safeguarding and the welfare of the children within the community’s care

Experience

Experience in a similar role is beneficial but not necessary for this role. This is due to the in-depth induction process that all the Forge Care staff go through.
