Location: Gardner, MA Category: Part Time (Non-Benefit) Posted On: Thu Aug 17 2023 Job Description: General Statement of Duties: Child Watch Team Leader will work closely with CCAMPIS Advisor to create a safe and nurturing space in the Child Watch. The Team Leader will help to plan and create activities for children, and maintain a safe environment. Hours are flexible not to exceed 18 hours per week, 32 weeks per year. Provide direct supervision of children ages 6 months to 14 years in the MWCC Child Watch program Ensure that children are safe and needs are met Oversee all age appropriate Child Watch activities while encouraging social and learning play Work actively with the CCAMPIS Advisor to ensure the child care needs of the student-parent are met Meet with individual parents to arrange child care needs in the Child Watch for day and evening hours Support and advocate for the student-parents family needs in order to assist the parent to continue and complete college Engage parents in volunteer activities, family socials, and other activities offered through the CCAMPIS Program and the Family Resource Center Assist with scheduling, coverage and eligibility paperwork for drop-in Child Watch; Collaborate with MWCC resources and community agencies working with families and low-income parents Responsibilities: Engage with children through play, arts and crafts, reading, etc. Keep children safe and establish ground rules to Child Watch etiquette Clean and tidy room periodically while children are in the room, and after children leave Keep in communication with CCAMPIS Advisor of needs and concerns of students Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; and, Nine (9) months of supervised work experience with children under seven (7) years old; and, Completed three-credit courses in Child Development and Intro to Early Childhood Education, or equivalent combination of education, Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience of working with children under 7 years old Strong written and oral communication skills Knowledge of Excel Desired Qualifications: Experience with providing parent training and coordinating classroom volunteers, Experience working with children with Autism Excellent oral and written communication skills Bilingual language skills (English/Spanish) Equivalency Statement Applicants who do not meet the qualifications as stated above are encouraged to put in writing precisely how their background and experience have prepared them with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience required for the responsibilities of this position.
