What's the job?:
The purpose of this role is to directly support our Director of Engineering on their agenda, strategy direction setting, strategy initiatives, key meetings, key stakeholder interaction, external communication and engagement with the broader Technology and Banner Leadership teams.

What will you do?
  • Oversee strategic business initiatives from development through successful execution under the guidance of senior leadership.
  • Strategic advisor to the Engineering Leaders and their teams, supporting them in shaping and delivering their holistic engineering agenda – also cross-functionally across Kingfisher Group.
  • Own and lead the framework of governance, rhythm and routines to ensure we are efficient and effective in our decision making.
  • Preparation of strategic Engineering topics for the Technology Leadership and Executive Leadership team.
  • Provide initial engagement for key stakeholders to ensure proposals to the Director of Engineering & Tech board are complete and clearly articulated.
  • Improving the functions ongoing processes and organising procedures to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity of the Engineering organisation.
  • Ensure the Engineering communications plan is understood and implemented by the engineering team.
  • Building relationships with all key colleagues in the Engineering and broader Technology organisation for increased efficiency to help monitor and deliver on the strategic planning delivery – including communicating and resolving in case of risks.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, handling inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications
What we need::
What will you bring to the table?

  • Excellent communication skills, allowing you to structure documents and quantitative analysis into compelling documents for executive level interaction.
  • Significant experience from a top-tier management consulting company or similar relevant experience.
  • Experience in Technology, Digital, Online or related Tech topics.
  • Top-notch quantitative and analytical skills that allow you to extract logic, insights and meaningful conclusions from complex business problems.
  • Result orientation – consistently deliver quality work to support and drive strategic change in the Engineering agenda.
  • Collaboration – able to interact with top management and broader leadership teams, provide inspirational leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic orientation – holistic thinker who is able to extract logic, insights and meaningful conclusions from complex business problems and transformational strategic projects.
  • Agile way of working – ability to run projects in agile way and in a fast-changing environment.
  • Fluent in written and verbal English is a must, fluency in spoken French is a plus

We’re adopting a hybrid approach with some office and some home working, on average 40-60% in the office. Your office location? This person will be UK based with our Head Office in Paddington, or we could explore the option of being based in one of our other retail banners head offices in Southampton or Yeovil.
