Job description
Competitive six figure salary
Full time
Wandle Learning Trust, Battersea.
Wandle Learning Trust was founded in 2018 and is now a family of four schools. Unique to our Trust is the strong collaboration with Wandle Learning Partnership (WLP), which is home to our Teaching School Hub, English Hub and Maths Hub and our not-for-profit phonics programme, Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised. Our aim is to ensure that as a result of attending an academy in the Trust, every young person will be inspired and empowered by their education. Inspired to build a purposeful and fulfilling life and empowered to make a valuable contribution to the world around them.
Building on the work of our outgoing CFOO you will be expected to bring a wealth of strategic thinking and problem solving to the role, as well as commitment to equity of education and inclusion. Working directly with the Co-CEOs you will share their belief in the need for clear lines of accountability and transparent leadership. You will also be creative in your thinking and adaptable in your approach and be guided by the question that guides all of us within the Trust – ‘What will the impact of my decision-making be on the outcomes and opportunities for the children and young people in our schools?’
The CFOO is integral to the delivery of the Trust’s strategic aims and you will play a key role as a member of the Trust leadership team. ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, or qualified by experience, with a detailed knowledge of public finances, procedures, practice and regulations (preferably ESFA and sector requirements), you will be responsible for the financial development and sustainability of WLT, as well as provide the leadership and management of the Trust’s finance and business functions.
Commercially astute you will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels. You will be able to balance strategy with operational needs and to successfully lead teams, preferably across multi-site organisations, with a proven track record of making and implementing essential change.
You will be joining the Trust at a period of exciting growth and development, with the opportunity to help to influence and shape the direction of a young evolving organisation.
