THG LABS offers a unique end-to-end service specialising in the development and supply of premium beauty and cosmetic products to highly respected brands and retailers on a global scale. We have extremely knowledgeable, hardworking, and innovative teams working across our sites in Trowbridge and Frome, including a state-of-the-art laboratory and 98,000 square foot ever-developing manufacturing site.
As part of our growth strategy for 2023 and beyond, we are now seeking an experienced Chemist to join our talented and busy R&D Team as they take on some exciting new skincare, haircare, and beauty brands.
Our Chemists are responsible for taking product briefs from concept through to completion, working closely with the relevant teams associated with those projects. These roles provide an opportunity to take ownership of a specific product or range, allowing you to see the results of your input and expertise brought to life in the end product.
Key activities will include: -
- Working closely with all relevant departments on new product briefs and liaising directly with customer contacts when required.
- Delegating work to Laboratory Technicians and Junior Chemists and overseeing their training.
- Organising and monitoring all required testing and communicating results, maintaining accurate records relating to the development and production of safe and legal cosmetics and personal care formulations.
- Keeping up to date with raw material launches, product formulation and market trends.
- Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the cosmetic regulations and ensuring all products are developed in line with safety and legal guidelines.
- Being able to support and present alongside the Commercial teams in customer presentations and meetings representing the technical team when required.
- Working closely with the Process department to ensure products are scaled up successfully, organising and overseeing pilot batches and relevant factory trials.
