The Hereford operation is the major European production facility in the PCC Energy Group and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Chemist to join the SMW team.
Role Summary:
The IncoTest Chemist is responsible for the Wet Chemistry laboratory, coordinating methods development and routine analysis of test sample as well as environmental monitoring.
Essential Functions:
To co-ordinate, the Chemical Analysis department in providing analysis of samples from materials manufactured at SMW, which include but are not limited to: Product Analysis, Contract Testing samples, Process Control samples and Environmental Monitoring.
- Technical lead for ICP-OES GD-MS, XRF, Spark OES and other analytical techniques
- Technical lead for process and environmental testing
- Method development
- Work with the Analysis Coordinator to ensure safety, quality and efficiency
- Maintain good housekeeping and organisation of the laboratory
- Provide routine updates to the Production Supervisor on the progress of Release Testing
- Support the Sales Office team in responding to customer enquiries and providing RFQs
- Coordinate the installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Attend daily IncoTest TOC meeting on behalf of the Chemical Analysis Department
- Potential line management responsibility
Additional Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriate.
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Degree qualified (minimum 2:1) in Chemistry or a relevant scientific subject e.g. Forensics, Materials Science, Environmental Science.
- 2 years Laboratory experience
- Instrumentation and Wet Chemistry experience (preferable)
- Method Development experience (preferable)
