HMP Thorn Cross, Arley Rd, Appleton Thorn, Warrington.
Monday – Friday Salary £27,000 - £30,000 (Depending on Experience), plus travel expenses.
The role will work across two prison locations - HMP Thorn Cross (Warrington) & HMP Liverpool.
Permanent Full Time position.
Relevant Assessor qualifications (TAQA, CAVA, A1 etc), chef qualifications and experience of working as a Chef are preferable.

The role of Chef Trainer Assessor is to inspire and train prisoners who have 6 – 24 months left to serve of their sentence, and give practical skills to aid their rehabilitation, with the aim of reducing re offending rates. The successful candidate will be a highly experienced Chef from within a restaurant, contract catering, food production or Catering College environment (with previous chef experience). The charity will support the successful candidate in the completion of their TAQA qualification via a learning agreement.
You will be responsible for the running of the prison cafe at at HMP Thorn Cross and working within the prison kitchens at HMP Liverpool. Ideally, you will be experienced at training and assessing and can assess the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 1 Certificate in Food Preparation & Cookery
- NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Food Production & Cookery
- Food Safety Level 2 Award
- NVQ Level 2 Barista Skills
- NVQLevel 2 Food & Beverage Service
