Job description
As the Channels Transition Operations Lead, you will play a key role to ensure the successful transformation of the newly formed Channels function. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful transition of the Channels function, identifying synergies and efficiencies across Retail & Digital channels. You will be responsible for driving effective delivery of same and ensuring that initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and according to defined quality standards. You will play a crucial role to ensure that change and the transition is effectively imbedding across all teams, including the Channels team, wider Technology teams, Technology Function, Business Stakeholders and external teams.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategy, Ways of Working & Transformation;
- Drive and lead the transition of the Channels domain – assist in designing and executing the transition plan across the Retail & Digital teams, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure plan is delivered.
- Drive a system of work and process improvement initiatives across Retail & Digital workstreams to enhance delivery efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction ensuring value-for-money and timeline goals.
- Support in the development of a strategy model and a new supplier engagement covering design, build, test and run across the Retail and Digital domains.
- Support in developing Channel focused ways of working covering roadmap delivery and business demand management, financial tracking and budgeting, quality assessment and vendor management.
- Gain a thorough understanding of Primark’s Product in our Channels offering, including strengths and limitations relative to market/consumer trends, competitive threats, market opportunities and customer experience
- Continually make recommendations to key stakeholders to allow us to evolve and enhance the Channels function.
- Anticipate the future growth plans of the business and ensure that Channels is set up to deliver to these plans.
- Continually seek to discover and implement new strategies that yield a competitive business advantage and drive business revenue.
- Lead the Channels teams to drive implementation of the roadmap, creating and tracking a plan to ensure delivery of goals set for the Channels function.
- Accountable for the successful transition of major programmes to a BAU state within the Channels function.
- Develop and implement strategies for managing the Channels Domain's initiative portfolio, ensuring alignment with business objectives, priorities, and resource availability.
- Execute all processes and procedures established necessary for Channels initiatives, with clearly defined KPIs/metrics to measure performance.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise potential issues and ensure successful delivery.
- Ensure business readiness by offering appropriate training, operational support plans, and ensuring that both internal and external teams are trained in new ways of working as a Channels function
Collaborate;
- Prioritise key activities for the Channels function and drive delivery through collaboration across multiple teams in the business.
- Collaborate with key operational and programme leads to define and refresh roadmaps for core Channels initiatives, with clear and measurable objective and key results (OKRs).
- Build effective communication channels with business leaders and stakeholders. Provide visibility on our Channels vision strategy and road map, the status of projects and opportunities to innovate.
- Operate as a primary point of contact for all topics related to the Channels transition for both internal and external teams.
- Work closely with the Technology Strategy Office, to ensure alignment to the overall business and Technology strategy.
- Leverage and manage services delivered from external suppliers. Form strategic partnerships and productive working relationships with preferred suppliers.
Leadership;
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Channels teams, creating and relaying a vision that aligns with business goals and aspirations.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior executives, clients, and project sponsors, ensuring effective communication and alignment of expectations.
- Share an engaging and inspiring vision with the team and provide clarity and a sense of direction to enable working towards common goals. Generates enthusiasm and commitment within the team and across Primark to shared outcomes.
- Operate as a role model within Primark, inspiring and mentoring others to develop and progress.
- Act as a coach and mentor for the team, enabling them to take ownership of their careers and supporting them to drive their own development.
- Help in directing and shaping overall voice of Channels function within Primark whilst harnessing creativity and innovation in others.
Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in senior leader position, with experience in driving and managing large scale programmes
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
- Excellent leader and trusted advisor with extensive experience of developing senior business relationships and shaping and underpinning business strategies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative enterprise-wide thinker who’s accustomed to putting customers and users at the heart of plans to deliver required outcomes.
- Ability to establish, present and communicate a clear strategic direction which inspires ownership across the business
- Demonstrated ability in developing a culture that embraces innovation, and challenges existing paradigms without compromising business performance
- Expertise in conducting research and analysis. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks, devise solutions, and make decisions in a timely manner.
