The Department of Accounting and Finance at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS) invites applications from accomplished researchers for a Professorship in Accounting. Applications are welcomed in all fields of accounting, although preference will be given to applicants with research interests in one of the department’s core research areas. This post is part of LUMS efforts to further strengthen its academic standing as a world class business school.

Applicants for the post should have a distinguished international research profile in Accounting as attested by quality of publications in top 3 accounting journals, citations, a track-record of securing external funding and managing research projects, engagement with international research networks, and other strong evidence of esteem indicators such as editorships of journals, membership of editorial review boards, and invitations to address international or national conferences. All applicants must have a PhD in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline and a track record of competent teaching. Preference will be given to applicants with a track record of institution building and experience of supporting the development of junior faculty and PhD students. The successful candidates will be expected to play an immediate leadership role in the development of the accounting and finance group at LUMS. The Department offers a competitive package at European level and the applicant will be able to work with a large group of talented junior staff members. The successful candidate for this Chair position will have the opportunity to build a research team through the appointment of a linked lectureship and PhD student, or through an equivalent research development package.
