Job Title: Catering Porter
Trust: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Northern General Hospital, Herries Road, Sheffield, S5 7AU
Band/Pay rate: Band 2 £11.45 per hour plus enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays
Rota: 5 days out of 7, (7 week rota)
Hours / Shifts: 7am – 6pm
NHS Professionals require pro-active and hardworking kitchen porters to work within the Estates & Facilities team at Northern General Hospital. This will be a temporary position with an initial 6 month contract.
The post holder will be an integral part of the catering team, providing a general catering, portering and driver service to the Department.
Key Responsibilities
· Maintain a daily environment and ensure that the unit is always safe and tidy
· Stock replenishment and ordering of provisions
· Compiling ingredients lists as requested.
· Collection of return of goods to Department. This to include waste food collections.
· To work closely and flexibly with other team members to ensure work is carried out efficiently.
· Promote a safe work environment for all staff and patients
· To work singled crewed on vehicles as required in accordance with Departmental procedure.
Requirements
· Previous experience in portering desirable
· UK Driving Licence
· Good IT skills
· Good communicator who can follow instructions
· Excellent telephone manner
· Good understanding of Microsoft office
· Computer literate
· Excellent communicator
