Job description
Salary: £20,441 to £20,812 per annum (£8,839 - £8,999 per annum, pro rata)
Working Pattern: 16 hours per week (part-time) 4 days 3 hours 11.00-2.00pm 1 day 4 hours 10.00-2.00pm Term time plus 5 cleaning days.
Location: You will be employed by West Sussex County Council, Woodlands Meed School, Burgess Hill.
Interview Date: 14th March 2023
Do you want to make a difference? As a Catering Assistant you can do just that by providing healthy and freshly prepare school meals.
In this role you will be required to;
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, service clearing and cleaning of the catering equipment and kitchen environment within the required standards, ensuring hygiene and safety measure are maintained.
- Provide written documents in relation to Health & Safety and Food Safety Legislation and business requirements.
- Work in a fast-paced environment within a prescribed time frame.
- The role involves physical effort including lifting, moving & handling of large equipment frequently
Experience and Skills
Key Skills:
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with children and staff, demonstrating good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work using your own initiative and within a team.
- Ability to be sensitive to the needs of the service users.
- Able to complete physical tasks.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
- Experience of working in a catering environment.
- Experience in dealing with customers, including written and verbal communication.
Experience in working within Health
