Job Title: Catering Assistant
Trust Location:Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust
Location: Sheffield Children’s Hospital, Clarkson Street, Broomhall, Sheffield S10 2TH
Shift Pattern: Shifts between 8 am – 8pm Monday – Sunday on a rota basis
Pay: £11.85/hr (Weekdays), £16.00/hr (Saturdays) & £20.03/hr (Sundays/Bank Holidays)

What you’ll be responsible for:
· Preparation, packing and labelling of salads and sandwiches for patients, staff, and other customers. Sandwiches to be prepared within a fridge with cool temperatures.
· To work closely with other ‘Team Members’ to ensure high quality food is produced.
· Responsible for the packing, sealing, and labelling of meal containers, ensuring dietary needs are catered for as required.
· Responsible for the correct storage of food stuffs and equipment, accepting deliveries and goods as directed and as per Departmental procedure.
· Responsible for accurately filling patient meal trolleys and baskets prior to distribution.
· Responsible for the operation of the pot washing machines to ensure all utensils and equipment are cleaned to specified standard.
· Carry out general and deep cleaning duties within the Department as directed by the Supervisor and as per cleaning schedules.
· Movement of stackers, trolleys and mobile equipment as required to ensure safe and correct storage.
· Responsible for ensuring that portion sizes, lidding and labelling is in accordance with Departmental recipes and procedures.
· Removal and recycling of waste products as required and place waste food into bio-digesters.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
· GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualification
· Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required
· Excellent customer service
· NHS experience – desirable but not essential
· Reliable and hard working
