Catering and Housekeeping Assistant

Blue Peris Mountain Centre,
Dinorwic, Caernarfon LL55 3ET

Who We Are:

Blue Peris Mountain Centre is situated in the heart of Snowdonia. On the doorstep are magnificent mountains, tranquil lakes, and a stunning coastline. The centre mainly caters for school pupils who stay at the centre on a residential basis. However, customers do include universities, families and corporate teams.

Blue Peris has been, a safe and reputable outdoor education centre for nearly 40 years. Our teams are skilled and knowledgeable; dedicated to providing a potential life-enhancing experience to all of our guests.

About You:

  • You will need to have some experience of working within a kitchen environment.
  • Need some experience of preparing pre-cooked meals
  • Ideally holding Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification but training can be arranged
  • Be able to carry out basic house keeping duties ( However, this is not main part of the role )
  • Aable to follow direction well

Some of the tasks and responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Conduct basic record-keeping tasks, such as temperature checks
  • Serve food to customers in a friendly, efficient and timely manner
  • Receive, store and rotate food deliveries
  • Assist in keeping kitchen areas in a tidy, clean and hygienic manner at all times
  • Prepare basic food menus as directed sometimes while lone-working
  • Work alongside and supporting the team operating in the dining room, and serving areas
  • Perform kitchen set-up and close-down process
  • Alongside the Head Cook and Housekeeping Supervisor, assist with the cleaning operations across the Centre, and assist with Centre and kitchen deep cleaning, as and when required
  • Support the operation of the tuck shop

Working Hours

  • 15 hours per week, with lots of flexibility to suit candidate, please get in touch to discuss further
  • Normal centre opening hours are between 7.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday
  • There is the option for further hours paid at same hourly rate on a week by week basis if this suits the candidate. Otherwise 15 hours per week will be the total per week

  • Morning shifts from 7.00am and evening shifts up till 7.00pm are shared, thus meaning you’re not working early or late every day.
