Job Introduction

The Registration Service is part of Staffordshire County Council’s Customer Service function. The job of a Casual Registration Officer can be very rewarding, guiding and supporting people through significant life events, such as Marriages, Civil Partnerships and Citizenship Ceremonies. It demands high standards of accuracy, an eye for detail and the willingness to work within a legal framework, and above all the ability to be sensitive and flexible to the needs of the public.

Main Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to provide a comprehensive customer-orientated service for

  • Completing all statutory and non-statutory duties as Deputy Superintendent Registrar and Deputy Registrar when attending marriage and civil partnership ceremonies
  • Completing all duties in relation to citizenship and discretionary ceremonies.
  • Travel between the Registration Office, Approved Venues and other locations within Staffordshire in connection with ceremony related registration purposes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for positive individuals who have experience of working in a front facing customer focused environment. You will be required to conduct marriages, civil partnership, citizenship and discretionary ceremonies across various locations within Staffordshire.

You should be enthusiastic, professional, flexible, and committed to providing excellent customer service and achieving high quality standards.
