Opportunities have arisen to join the Registration and Bereavement Services as a Casual Registration Officer/Wedding Celebrant/Reception and Chapel Assistant, and to deliver a specialist service as part of a highly client focused team.
Your next role
The roles include potentially registering all life events, including births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships but may also include other responsibilities such as copy certificate issue, reception or Crematorium Chapel Attendant. You must be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy as well as an empathetic and understanding manner. The role can be emotionally demanding as well as subject to competing priorities so evidence of your ability to work under pressure and make decisions is essential.
You will be educated to GCSE standard in Maths and English or equivalent, along with a proven ability to deal with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. You should also have a good standard of written English, excellent IT skills including MS packages along with clear handwriting. Full training on the registration application will be provided.
You will also be required to work around one in five Saturdays throughout the year on a rota basis.
Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer facing role).
Must hold a clean driving licence, as travel around the Borough will be required.
