Utilita Arena Newcastle is one of the most prestigious and important venues in the North East of England as the largest indoor entertainment and exhibition venue, on the iconic Newcastle River Tyne, with an 11000-capacity auditorium, 600 surface car park in the city centre of Newcastle, entertaining 500,000 visitors per year.
Working at Utilita Arena is an exciting and fun opportunity for all, with the added bonus of flexible shifts to fit around the other important things in life. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our food and beverage team working on a casual event driven basis.
As a member of our food and beverage team you will be working behind one of our bar/food stalls within our main foyer (in the hustle-and-bustle of it all) where you will be serving customers everything from their pre-event drinks, through to their snack in the interval! You will be one of the first points of contact therefore it is really important that you are approachable and have excellent communication skills. Bar experience is desirable however full in-house training will be provided for all successful candidates.
You will be serving customers attending our arena to watch everything from wedding shows, major sporting events, lavish top class shows through to Award Winning Brit artists (including the likes of Sam Fender and Dave)!
Customer service is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for team players that can make a positive contribution to the overall customer experience. We welcome applicants who take pride in their work, have a positive friendly attitude and possess excellent communication skills.
Main Duties
- Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages
- Interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- Assess customers’ needs and meet them
- Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- Restock and replenish inventory and supplies
- Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
- Comply with all food and beverage regulations

Successful applicants will be invited to join our casual database, giving them the opportunity to sign up for event-based shifts. This is a casual, event-based vacancy and will include evening and weekend work.

Rate of Pay: £10.50 per hour, plus holiday pay accrual (paid fortnightly)
