An excellent opportunity has arisen to gain valuable experience within the events industry. The first direct arena is looking for individuals to work on a casual basis within the Operations Department. The role involves assisting the Events Technician and Events Managers in preparations for all concerts and events, ensuring a high standard of service is maintained and providing a safe environment for all clients and visitors to the Arena.

MAIN DUTIES

Main Duties include:

• To build our stage system to varied dimensions based on show requirements
• To install our crowd control barrier
• To use our house drape system to create difference layouts for events
• To set out our floor seats
• To use house spotlights and Arena house lighting system
• To turn the Venue around (including overnight) between Events and change the staging, draping, chair layout, dressing rooms and offices in a short time frame
• To communicate and provide assistance to other Departments within the Arena
• Full on the job training will be given on the above however a willingness to work hard in a demanding environment is essential.
• Communicate with colleagues and visitors on all levels.
• Be physically capable due to the nature of the works involved
• Prove a willingness to learn and pick up new skills
• Be able follow the health and safety requirements set out by the Arena
• Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a small team
• Be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to work requirements/hours including evenings, weekends, public holidays and overnight as required by the Arena’s events schedule.

Rate of pay
In line with National Minimum/National Working Wage. In addition, you will also accrue holiday pay and a higher wage working overnight.
