Job description

An opportunity has arisen to join the Frontier team, based at Witham St Hughs. We are looking for a Cashier to join us on a permanent full-time basis.

The successful candidate will ensure all incoming payments are banked and processed accurately via the accounting system on a timely basis.

Ideal candidate

  • Numerical accuracy and a good attention to detail
  • IT literate with working knowledge of Microsoft PC applications
  • Ability to work on own initiative, making decisions, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues
  • Possess a confident and professional manner
  • Demonstrate ability to initiate and develop effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels

The role – Key responsibilities

  • Daily logging of BACS receipts onto Open Accounts system, received via Barclays Business Master
  • Process customer BACS/cheques and allocate cash on customer accounts
  • Process returned cheques onto Open Accounts system
  • Liaise with Credit Controllers to reconcile receipt queries and returned receipts
  • Liaise with Treasury to ensure receipts are banked on time and to administer retuned receipts
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal customers ensuring Customer queries are forwarded to relevant departments for resolution.
  • Process customer self-billing invoices using Microsoft Excel, Access, in order to allocate customer payments
  • Scan Customers cheques/BACS remittances onto the system
  • Investigate payment differences and log queries
