Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides excellent customer service and follows efficient cash handling procedures for all the cafeteria customers on a daily basis.

1. Provides service to all cafeteria customers.

• Assembles area prior to and after meal service according to activity list and standard protocol.
• Maintains area with appropriate supplies and requisitions items as needed prior to running out.
• Maintains knowledge of each cafeteria position and foods served.
• Waits on customers appropriately by: acknowledging their presence immediately with eye contact, smile and a greeting, providing items requested without delay, and answering question informatively.
• Operates cash register system with accurate and timely monetary transactions by established procedures
• Completes all cash counting and report procedures after meal period and before end of shift.

2. Adheres to departmental Quality Assurance procedures.

• Supplies equipment with appropriate products and records temperatures daily with written and verbal follow up action if needed.
• Performs daily and weekly cleaning assignments according to schedule.
• Follows the standard infection control practices for hand washing, personal hygiene, grooming, uniforms, and food handling.
• Attends 90% of departmental meetings and all required in-services.

3. Practices safety techniques.

• Adheres to standard safety procedures in all aspects of the job.
• Learns correct equipment operating procedures and reports malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
• Responsible for careful and safe handling of all equipment, knives, & glass / chinaware.

4. Performs miscellaneous job duties as assigned.

• Ensures assigned duties are enthusiastically completed as designated.
• Ensures completion of duties provides results at the level requested.

What qualifications you will need:

• Food Handlers Permit must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
