Under the direction of the ASSITANT STORE MANAGERS, responsible for providing fast, friendly and courteous customer service.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that the guest is the #1 priority and that every guest is treated accordingly.
• Manage the first 5 Moments of Magic:
  • Ensure the front entrance is pleasing.
  • Welcome guests to Eckert’s
  • Offer assistance in finding products
  • Attend to guest’s needs in a timely manner and provided with superior service
  • Invite guests back and pass out coupons/information
• Handle cash, check, credit card and gift certificate payments
• Answer customers questions and provide product information
• Bag and box merchandise
• Count money cash drawers at the beginning of the shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
• Redeem coupons
• Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
• Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that there is someone always available near the register to assist customers
• Process merchandise returns and exchanges
• Resolve customer complaints
• Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices
• Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items
• Communicate with other store staff.
• Assists with product displays
• Set up and take down of product samples on a daily basis
• Performs other duties as needed or assigned

Physical/Visual Activities or Demands

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, push, pull, reach, grasp, feel, talk and hear.
• Generally light physical effort. The employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs. rarely and/or 5 to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision at a distance of 20 inches or less with the ability to judge distance and space relationships along with adjusting the eye to bring objects into sharp focus.

Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. Good working conditions.

Knowledge: Job requires a high school diploma or GED; previous customer service experience preferred.

Experience: Preferably 1-2 years in a retail-type setting.

Skills and Abilities: This may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
