The Position
We are now looking for friendly, energetic and customer service-oriented cashiers!
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent, friendly and knowledgeable customer service. It is our job to make sure the customer leaves satisfied, so great customer service is a MUST.
- Memorize all the produce codes and has knowledge of the different types of fruits and vegetables.
- Keep up with the seasonal fruit and vegetables.
- Bag groceries while, maintaining the integrity of the products.
- Stock products if needed.
- Keep workspace clean at all times.
Qualifications
- One year of retail experience, grocery preferred.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency while still maintaining great customer service and accuracy on the register.
- Must be able to communicate with customers who speak only English.
- Committed to providing quality goods, championing local purveyors, and advocating for environmental stewardship.
- A sense of humor and the ability to find fulfillment in engaging with customers.
- An open schedule is required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.

REQUIREMENTS
- Educational/Experience Requirements: High school diploma and prior experience in retail cash handling/balancing. Interest in and knowledge of food and wine preferred.
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be continuously standing, walking, sitting and carrying of less than 15 lb.; occasionally climbing, stooping, twisting and fine manipulation; intermittently bending and reaching. Occasional environmental exposure to cold, heat and water; and rare exposure to dust and fumes. Use of machinery including, but not limited to cash registers, computers, printers and other office equipment.
- Skill Requirements: Thorough product knowledge and desire to learn; strong customer communication skills; detail oriented, retail/business understanding and experience, including time management, self-motivation, organizational and problem solving abilities and professional demeanor and appearance; and commitment to quality food, wine and customer service. Must be competent in cash handling and balancing.
- Language Requirements: English language and professional communication skills are required.
