Senior Support Engineer
London
As a Barclays Senior Support Engineer, you will be working within the London Cash Equities Application Management team, which is based on the trading floor. You will be responsible in ensuring the continued availability, effectiveness and accuracy of the strategic sales and trading platforms. You will also operate within the problem and incident management framework, be proactive and have excellent communication skills and outstanding client facing skills, and be able to prioritise issues and escalate where appropriate.

- Helping with Cash Equities Technology in London with a particular focus on Client connectivity platform (over FIX)
- Providing assistance in Equities OMS application suite and the in-house RFQ platform for both Cash and Derivatives desks
- Liaising with internal traders, operations and other stakeholders on potential process improvements
- Leading and handling Cash, ETF and Flow Vol desks as they look to expand the use of both linked and un-linked RFQ flows
- Leading and taking ownership of issues through to resolution or escalation as appropriate
- Improving the quality of systems and service and increasing business value
- Overseeing capacity and performance management, monitoring initiatives, infrastructure upgrades, web based tools, reporting, documentation, audit and regulatory requests
- Upholding and championing policies, procedures and standards
- Knowledge of applications on Unix platforms
- Experience of working with relational databases (DB2, SQL Server and Oracle)
- Experience of middleware technologies (Tibco RV and Solace)
- Knowledge of Equities and genuine interest in financial markets
- Experience in scripting (Bash /Perl/Python) and automation
- Prior experience in assisting Cash Equities HighTouch function
- Experience of RFQ applications within any asset class
- Background in trading systems, preferably complex Cash Equities trading/risk systems
