Job description
Are you a talented story-teller with passion for animal welfare? Do you want to use your excellent writing and research skills to help us connect with donors?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Case for Support Manager to support our high value fundraising team. This will be someone with incredible writing and research skills, a nose for a good story and a finely-honed sense of what encourages donors to give.
Dogs Trust has exciting plans to grow its reach and impact over the next ten years with the launch of our new organisational strategy. In fact, we’ve been helping dogs for over 130 years. In that time, we’ve found forever homes for hundreds of thousands of our faithful friends, dramatically reduced the numbers being put to sleep, and helped to all but eliminate strays from the UK’s streets. We've also established universal microchipping, campaigned tirelessly on important issues such as puppy smuggling and grown influence and impact on the international stage. But we know there’s so much more to do. There are still millions of dogs - and people who love dogs - around the world who need support.
In this unique role you will identify projects and priorities that could command significant gifts and can illustrate impact of Dogs Trust work. Using your story-telling and research skills you will collaborate with fundraisers to create case for support statements for key philanthropic priorities at the high value level. Playing a key role in establishing a high value philanthropy ‘tone of voice’ to be used with donors and prospects, you will create engaging and compelling materials that will help our fundraisers secure donations.
Reporting back on donations is equally important, and you will help Dogs Trust donors understand the impact of their gifts by helping to evaluate the projects they funded. This will require you to take the lead on designing reports and other materials demonstrating the value of our work.
With experience copywriting across multiple platforms and audiences, especially in a charity environment, you will have expertise managing print publications end to end, designing communication plans and measuring their success. Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment is also a must, while experience monitoring or benchmarking the impact of financial investment or charitable gifts is desirable.
In return for all of this, we have a comprehensive benefits package, which includes excellent annual leave, Perkbox and pension allowances, and you will you join a team of highly professional and driven colleagues in a brilliant upbeat and collaborative environment, all with a genuine passion for dog welfare.
