CAS Officer Greenwich, England

University of Greenwich
Full Time Greenwich, England 24948 - 27929 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

International students are extremely important to the University of Greenwich, and we are proud of our international reputation and of the diverse background from which our students originate. The university has an excellent record of accomplishment in international student recruitment and we are an institution of choice for applicants from all over the globe.

We are offering the opportunity for a CAS Officer to join the International Office operations team, within the Marketing and External Relations Directorate. Based at our World Heritage Greenwich Maritime Campus, you will join an established CAS Team handling visa and immigration matters.

We are seeking to develop and improve the international applicant journey and increase international student numbers, whilst ensuring that the university remains compliant with UK immigration policies and standards and rigour are maintained.

Successful applicants will be responsible for reviewing applications from students who require a Student visa to study in the UK, assessing them against current immigration policies and assigning a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to candidates who meet the relevant criteria. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of related processes, as we seek continuous improvement to ensure that our service remains consistent with the expectations of our applicants.

Successful candidates will be enthusiastic and motivated, with prior knowledge of the Student Visa immigration system. Full training and comprehensive staff development opportunities will be offered.

Due to the nature of this role, and the fact that it will require Home Office clearance to access the UKVI Sponsor Management System, we are unfortunately unable to consider any applicant who will require a Certificate of Sponsorship under Tier 2 of the Points Based Immigration System. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

For more information or an informal chat about this role, please contact Alison Draper, Senior CAS Officer at [email protected].

The university welcomes people from diverse and underrepresented communities who can help the university to achieve its mission.

We do this through taking positive action such as encouraging applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, disabled and LGBT+ people. As part of our commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Time to Change Employer Pledge/Mentally Healthy Universities, we are committed to promoting and supporting the physical and mental health of all our staff, and removing barriers to improve inclusion.

We encourage applicants to disclose experience of mental health problems so we can support them fully during our recruitment process and make any necessary reasonable adjustments. Any information disclosed will be kept confidential and separate from the job application form.

We are making significant strides to understand and continuously improve our employees’ experience and we are committed to implementing progressive diversity talent management.
