Job description
Smart Garden Offices design and manufacture a bespoke range of high-quality garden rooms in their wood mill in Thurston, near Bury St Edmunds and install across the UK. We are currently recruiting for additional, full-time and permanent, garden room installers to join our team. Our installers work as a team, installing in all weathers and across the country, meaning overnight stays and the ability to get on with other team members is essential. Experience of installing garden rooms is not essential, although handy-man or carpentry skills are desirable.
Our installers arrive on site in good time, with all the relevant tools, materials and equipment required to effectively install the garden room. Installation takes place to the highest standards, assisted by our CAD designs, and with minimal errors, sometimes meaning components must be modified on site to achieve this. This role will suit those with a ‘can do’ attitude and who are able to think on their feet.
There are timescales. Some of our buildings take two days to install, while others can take five days, which then means four overnight stays. Teams can be in Suffolk one week, then in Scotland the next week, so a full and valid driving licence is a must. Locations really do depend upon where our customers live. Talking of customers, we are looking for someone who will be the ‘face’ of SMART and are good communicators, not just with their team, but also the customer.
So, if you have experience in carpentry, joinery, cabinet making, shop fitting, window fitting or building work, then you may possess the exact skills we are looking for.

We also give staff an extra day holiday for each full year of loyal service. This position also comes with a wage of £24,000 to £34,000 per annum, based on experience.
