Job Summary: Assists the nurse in planning/implementing basic care as delegated. Demonstrates knowledge/skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and culture of the residents/patients served, and ability to provide care according to departmental policies and procedures. Provides care over an extended time, in various settings, spanning the illness to wellness continuum. Observing patients at risk for harm to self or others (i.e., suicide or fall risk). Performs other related duties as deemed competent.

- Perform other related duties as deemed competent.
Education:
- Graduate of an approved CNA training program
- Long-term care, med-surg, or related experience preferred
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
CNA I/II:
- Current listing as CNA I or II with Division of Facility Services with no substantial findings
- CNAI must attend Monitoring Blood Glucose Training within 6 months of employment
- Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) is required
Continuing Education Requirements: Required completion of all mandatory education as determined by UNC Health Blue Ridge and department leadership. A minimum of 6 hour(s) per year for long-term care in addition to any mandatory requirements. A minimum of 12 hours(s) per year for acute care including any mandatory requirements.
Typical Physical Demands:
Requires frequently: pushing 40 lbs; pulling 80 lbs; standing; walking; repetitive trunk rotation-standing; manual dexterity; both handedness (both hands must be used) near vision; far vision; hearing (requires hearing whispered voice)
Occasionally: lifting 35 lbs from floor to waist and waist to eye level; one-handed carrying 15lbs; work kneeling; work squatting/crouching; visual color discrimination; and visual depth perception.

Schedule: Full Time, 7a-7p, 3 (12) hour shifts per week
