Home Instead is the world’s leading provider of non-medical care and companionship services for older people, providing over 1 million hours of care in the last year supplied by our 255+ offices based nationwide.
The Home Instead Welwyn & Hatfield office are now looking to add to our highly skilled and proficient team of Adult Care Professionals with or without previous experience in the Adult Care Sector.
We are seeking people who live in Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Borehamwood or Potters Bar locations and who have their own car to enable them to visit clients in their own homes and travel between them daily.
We also require all staff to cover their agreed hours - on alternate weekends.
THIS ROLE REQUIRES THE APPLICANT RESIDES IN THE UK AND HAS THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK this will need to be established as part of the recruitment process.
We are seeking people who are interested in working with older people in the community, to ensure that they are given the support and assistance to enable them to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
Our duties involve personal care (washing and dressing), home help duties (light housework & shopping) and companionship (attending social events).
We will train you in every aspect of the job role incorporating: safeguarding, health & safety, nutrition, medication, manual lifting and life support, ensuring you have the skills and talents necessary to provide a high standard and professional service to all your clients.
We offer:
- Pay rates averaging £14.00 + per hour, including holiday and travel.
- Increased evening and weekend rates.
- Double time for bank holiday working.
- Your basic rate paid to you when training - covering workshops and e-learning.
- £0.30/mile travel expenses.
- £0.45/mile when carrying or travelling on behalf of clients.
- Minimum 1-hour visits.
- No set shifts - we work with your availability.

We are far more interested in what you are capable of achieving than previous academic history, so please do not be scared to call us.
We do insist all staff have their own car - essential as we visit clients in their own homes and travel between them each day.
We also require all staff work their agreed hours on alternate weekends.
We are particularly interested in people who wish to work evenings and perhaps every weekend and welcome applications for those hours.
Additional Information
If you wish to be considered for a Live-In Care position, you will be provided with 3 meals a day or an allowance from the client, a separate room to stay and access to a TV and WiFi. In addition, we offer comprehensive training and support.
We require a minimum of 3 years experience for all Live-In Care Assignments.
