As a Career Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting participants to join the DWP Mid- Life MOT programme and progress in their journey towards secure retirement. You will have the tools, skillset and knowledge to provide high quality customer engagement through building of rapport and trust to support their engagement into the process. You will advise and coach participants to stay in work longer and enjoy a more secure retirement through helping them take stock of their Work, Wealth and Wellbeing.
Based from either; employer premises, remotely or at an agreed suitable location, you will provide excellent customer service to participants, build & maintain relationships and provide Information, Advice and Guidance to individuals which is monitored through their personal progress. This will be achieved by;
Delivering 1:1 support to participants as part of the Work pillar, including identifying transferable skills to improve career resilience and jointly developing a plan with participants to build these skills.- Provide Careers, Information, Advice and Guidance through their learning journey.
- Build and maintain high quality yield referral sources through networking and strong relationships.
- Signposting participants to available services in line with both current capabilities and future aspirations.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who has experience motivating and advising participants to reach their goals. Excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills coupled with the ability to manage own workload. You should have a proven track record of working towards targets and meeting KPI’s and a good knowledge of the current labour market.
You should ideally hold a recognised qualification in IAG at Level 3 or willingness to work towards IAG Level 4.
Previous experience of working with the unemployed/recently employed having supported people with a range of barriers into work e.g., those with health conditions, skills needs, BAME communities, lone parents, those aged 50+ would be beneficial but is not essential.
Please note, this is a remote based role with requirement to travel across the North East region on a daily basis. Therefore, Full Driving license and own transport is essential. You may occasionally be required to complete some evening or weekend work due to employer and employee demand.
