Life doesn’t stand still, and neither do we. As a leading not for profit provider of Retirement Living and Extra Care for older people of modest means, we don’t believe in doing things the way they’ve always been done – instead we look for how things can be better, always putting our residents and people at the heart of what we do.
With a CQC rating of Outstanding, the Watermill is a specialist care home supporting vulnerable older people with a diagnosis of Dementia.
Our care workers are the heartbeat of the Watermill who assist our residents with personal care needs, provide interaction and complete activities with residents throughout the day and provide support to residents in administering medication.
We need people who are passionate, supportive, patient and who love working with people! No prior experience in a care role is necessary however a positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn is a must!
At Housing 21 we’re proud to be bucking the trend as a care provider; not only do we pay at least 10 percent more than the National Living Wage, but we offer a range of impressive benefits including:
- Holiday Pay
- Occupational Sick Pay
- Occupational Maternity Pay
- Health Cash Plan*
- Blue Light Card (offering discounts across retail, hospitality and leisure)
- Car Lease Scheme
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Uniform provided
- Employee Assistance Programme
- 50p hourly enhancement for all Level 2
- Training and development to fulfil your career aspirations

We know that great people make a great organisation, which is why we put people at the heart of everything we do. You are as valuable to us as our corporate employees, which is why we offer occupational sick pay, occupational maternity and paternity pay and benefits such as the Blue Light Card to all our Extra Care employees.
We’re proud to be an Investors in People (IIP) Platinum organisation, which shows that not only do we actively empower our people to be the best they can be through continued training and development, but we also seek to constantly improve the ways we work. You shouldn’t have to choose between a career and care, and we want to support you to advance your career with us, which is why we have a dedicated learning pathway through our Extra Care Academy that could lead to future roles with salaries of £50,000!
