ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS - Care Certificate
Education: None, but preference will be given to candidates with care certificate/ nursing training or educated to degree level.
English Language Skills: ILETs with an average score of 5 or above. Or similar internationally recognised certificates will be accepted. Preference will be given to those with a driver's license and some driving experience.
Work Experience: Some experience in a social care or healthcare setting is preferred.

Descriptively referred to as a Care Worker, this individual is responsible for the overall care of children and adults with disabilities such as learning disabilities and reduced ability in elderly individuals, for example. The responsibilities of the Care Worker include preparing meals and snacks, light housework, assisting with personal hygiene and dressing, and providing companionship. The ideal candidates will be compassionate, have strong communication skills, and have experience working with a diverse group of individuals with developmental disabilities, elderly members of the community or those with a debilitating illness.
Responsibilities:
- Work with individual clients, though sometimes more.
- Some support in a team of care workers.
- Support clients with various needs, including physical, cognitive, communicative and behavioural.
- Respect individuals' privacy and right to be independent.
- Undertake individual care plans in response to a client's needs.
- Organise and coordinate care for clients, including their social and leisure activities.
- Help with physical tasks such as bathing and dressing, as well as walking for exercise and going outdoors.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the home environment.
