Job description

Care Support Workers

Enhanced Framework Community Justice and Specialist Housing Support Services

Full-time and Part-Time Roles

Salary: £21,255 - £22,732 per annum, pro-rata

Sacro’s mission is to deliver life-changing services that empower people, give hope and protection, and help to build safe communities

Sacro provides Restorative Justice and one to one programmes to assist young people to address offending behaviour.

  • Do you care passionately about helping people to live independent and fulfilling lives?
  • Do you want to make a real difference in helping vulnerable people realise their potential?
  • Are you creative? Can you think outside the box and find new ways of helping people reach positive destinations?
  • Do you want to be given the opportunity to receive excellent training and develop new skills?

We provide support services to people in our communities with a variety of support needs. These include those with learning disabilities, forensic backgrounds or those who have been involved in the criminal justice system. We also provide conflict resolution, mediation and school-based services and have programmes designed to help victims of same-sex domestic abuse.

We work in partnership with supported people and their families, as well as external partners, to maximise outcomes for those using our services.

  • X, a Service user with Sacro in Aberdeen says, “I was in care most of my life. Nowhere has anyone ever treated me with so much respect and dignity as Sacro staff do.”
  • Y, a staff member in Aberdeen says, “I love it here. No two days are the same. Sometimes it can be really challenging, others great fun. But every day I know what we’re doing here matters and is making a real difference to the people we are working with.”

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is an understanding of the nature of and purpose of the work we do. You will be flexible and imaginative in your approach and sensitive and confident in your ability to help supported people. The ability to use your own initiative and organise the workload whilst working in a non-discriminatory framework is essential.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is a requirement for Care Support Workers.

Sacro values diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
