John Radcliffe Hospital are currently seeking a number of care support workers to ideally work full time shifts for the next 12 weeks. There are shifts available 7 days per week, mostly long days but with some nights occasional too so some flexibility will be needed. This role will be in the Complex Care Unit.

What you’ll be responsible for
· Assist all patients with their personal care needs, empowering patients or families/carers and actively encouraging participation. This may involve maintaining hygiene needs for individuals such as helping patients to wash and dress themselves and assisting with toileting needs, maintaining privacy and dignity at all times.
· Perform clinical observations (following appropriate assessment of competence and under the direction of a registered practitioner where agreed.) accurately record using agreed electronic National Early Warning Signals such as SEND and report and escalate any concerns appropriately by reporting to the registered practitioner immediately.
· Prepare patients, families/carers and the environment for clinical activities supporting patients and their families/carers and preparing specific equipment as necessary.
· Participate in the initial assessment of patients’ needs, under the direct supervision of a registered practitioner.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
· A minimum of 6 months paid experience in an Acute hospital environment within the last 2 years plus a care certificate or NVQ Level 2 or above in health and social care OR 12 months paid experience in an acute hospital environment in the last 3 years.
· Undertake regular mandatory training*
*Depending on the Trust, you may require variable additional certification and skills.
