We currently have a vacancy for Band 2 Clinical Support Worker within Urology Inpatients.
We are looking for enthusiastic motivated staff to undertake this key role. Although we ask a lot of our staff in this often fast paced environment, we offer an excellent learning environment supported by our dedicated development Nurse team, with all relevant training provided within Trust. Excellent communication and people skills are required.
Skills and competence at B2 level not essential but would be desirable. Caring, empathetic focus with excellent communications skills essential with a genuine focus for caring and compassion.
We will support progression to a Band 3 CSW will be open for the right candidates.

Care Support Worker
Band 2 - 37.5 hours
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team. We care for patients with a variety of urological conditions, many requiring surgery.
You will work in close collaboration with the nursing team
- to assist in the delivery of patient care
- to contribute to the smooth running of the unit
- to work effectively as a member of the team

Patient Care
- Assist all patients with their personal care needs.
- To perform and record clinical observations,.
- Observe and monitor patient conditions, reporting to a registered practitioner.
- To assist patients to meet their food and fluid intake giving attention to special diets, supplements and cultural requirements.
- To assist patients to mobilise safely. where possible.
- Assist as appropriate in the support pf families/carers of patients receiving end of life care.
- Assist with the collection of specimens as requested.
- Contribute during handover.
- Communicate effectively with member of the multidisciplinary team, patients, carers using all methods.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and empathy.
- To participate in discussions about unit and departmental issues at meetings.
- Maintain professional boundaries.
- Adhere to all Trust, Directorate and Unit policies.
- Recognise and respect people at all times.
- Act in a non-discriminatory manner at all times.
- Prepare healthcare records.
- Demonstrate flexibility, time management skills and be able to prioritise workload.
- Work confidently in the challenging clinical environment.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
- Adhere to Trust and Directorate policies and RA.
- Report all accidents, incidents and areas of concern to senior staff ensuring relevant documentation is completed.
- Undertake all OUH statutory and mandatory training as required.
