Care & Support Worker

Location: The Albert Weedall Centre, Erdington B23

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £10.50 per hour

New Outlook is looking to recruit an experienced Care & Support Worker, to join the dedicated staff team at our supported living service The Albert Weedall Centre, based in Erdington.

This is a permanent position to provide support to elderly people with sight loss, and to enable them to retain their independence. The hours will be worked on a rota which will include early, late and weekend shifts.

This includes providing 1:1 support to tenants to promote their independence, develop daily living skills, support with personal care needs, meal preparation and support with medication.

Part of the role is to provide housing support which includes supporting tenants with tenancy sign ups, responding to daily support needs, maintaining accurate records, assist in maintaining the security of the building and adhering to all policies and procedures of the Association.

AWC is a 24-hour service with a rolling rota. You will be expected to work day shifts (8am-3pm, and 3pm-10pm), over a 7 day period.

You must have at least 1 year’s previous experience of working in a similar care and support role, in delivering personal care and administering medication. You should be flexible, caring and have a genuine willingness to undertake further training as required.

If successful you will be required to provide an enhanced DBS certificate, together with evidence of your current right to work in the UK.
