Job description
Milewood is a name trusted in the North of England to provide progressive residential and supported living services for adults with an intellectual disability.
With nearly two dozen homes across the area, we see care from the service user’s point of view. That means enabling them to receive the choices and rights they are entitled to and to become as independent as possible within an inclusive community.
Care that builds confidence
We encourage our service users and tenants to choose what they do and when they do it. They are given numerous opportunities to access the community with their support and key workers to enjoy the new experiences and interests that enrich their lives.
We are committed to provide the best possible care and support for our tenants and service users, to help build their confidence and independence.
Working in partnership to support Local Authorities
We work very closely with many local authorities in the North of England. We develop and provide individual care and support solutions for people with intellectual disabilities.
We are recognised for the quality and success of our programmes. They are highly effective in moving service users out of residential support and into supported living.
The Milewood Pathway is a proven, effective and progressive programme. Here, the needs of individuals, their families and local authorities are all key to us. We provide high support standards within set budgets that enable people to integrate with local communities.
All our homes are staffed by highly trained and experienced managers and support teams. The care and service they provide is second to none.
With exceptional resources and planned activities, our people work to enrich the lives and personal development of our service users. Care and support plans with risk assessments and behaviour management plans are simultaneously developed. These are assessed with the individual, key worker and, where possible, relatives to create a bespoke package for achievable outcomes for each service user. This ensures direction and consistency in staff practices.
Our structured pathways enable individualised development and efficient use of resources, providing our Local Authority clients with assurance, confidence and peace of mind.
