Job description

Happy Hounds are looking for an assistant manager to join our wonderful team. Happy Hounds operates from our doggy day care centre just outside Winchester city centre, also offering a dog walking service and raw dog food sales. If you have a passion for animals and experience in management then this could be the perfect role for you. A fully compliant dog walking van will be supplied - full UK driving licence required.

The Job:

The job will involve assisting our manager with the day to day running of the business as well as helping out with walking dogs, collecting & dropping off day care dogs and looking after them in the centre.

Assistant Manager:

Full Time (Monday – Friday, plus one weekend per month as overtime)
Salary: £23,000 per annum

Start Date: Approx 18/09/2023

Duties include:

Assisting with dog care activities;

Assistance with admin duties;

Creating and managing promotions;

Procurement and Stock control;

Scheduling customers, dogs, teams, and rotors

Scheduling of vehicle maintenance

Dog Walking

Doggy Day Care collections & drop offs

Responsibility for day care dogs

General cleaning and maintenance duties

Desirable skills:

Knowledge of positive reinforcement training

Comfortable handling large dogs

Good verbal and written communication skills

Able to work well within a team

Exceptional time keeping

Good knowledge of a range of marketing methods

This role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, plus one weekend per month. Additional on the job training will be provided as required.
