Care Assistant for a young girl F/T @ £10.82 /hr in Berwick-upon-Tweed/Norham
Apply at UKCIL.com. Reference: d923116e
We are looking to recruit a personal care assistant to provide support to a 3-year-old girl living with her family in the Norham area. The support is to work with Mum/second worker to manage evening routine from mealtimes through to bath time and bed.
This young child has complex needs, including quadriplegic cerebral palsy, is non-verbal, has minimal mobility, epilepsy managed by medications and is fed through a gastrostomy tube.
She can use communication cues to express when she is in discomfort, but is otherwise a happy little girl who lights up the room when she is around. Her mother will be on hand to support with understanding her wants and needs and to offer support whilst working relations are formed.
The suitable applicant must be physically fit and willing to support with moving and handling of the child during bathing. Somebody who can access activities on the floor to engage with the child would also be preferred.
Full training in relation to moving & handling, medication administration and safeguarding will be provided as and where required.
Due to the family's location a car driver is preferred as public transport is not easily accessible in the area
Main Duties will initially include:
- Support at meal times to prepare meals and feed the child
- Support with bathing and readying for bed
- Provide support with medication
Personal Care – nappy changing etc.

All new duties will be discussed and agreed with all involved before proceeding. Person Specification
